The experiment was conducted at Jute Agriculture Experimental Station, Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI), Jagir, Manikganj during the period from December 2018 to March 2019 to understand the varietal performances of wheat in respect of growth and yield attributes. There were four different tested varieties e. g., Shotabdi, Kanchan, Sourav and Gourav used as experimental treatment. The study was designed by using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replication. The wheat varieties were significantly differed with plant height, number of tiller hill-1, number of effective tiller hill-1, panicle length, number of grain panicle-1, 1000-grain weight, grain yield and straw yield. Result revealed that the highest grain and straw yield was found (2.47 and 4.52 t ha-1, respectively) in the variety ‘Shatabdi’ and the lowest was recorded in grain and straw was (1.61 and 3.14 t ha-1, respectively) in ‘Sourav’. The prevailing performances of ‘Shatabdi’ may be regarded as the best wheat varieties for Manikganj district of Bangladesh.
